Welcome to SEEIP

SEEIP bridges science, technology and business through an integrated program for first-time founders of research-based startups.

It blends incubation, acceleration and technology transfer, supporting teams from idea validation to MVP, investment and international market access.

Applications are open year-round. The eLearning component is hybrid and remote, while later stages take place on-site at Sofia Tech Park.

Program Structure

Support is aligned to the development level of your startup, with quarterly intakes, progress checks and clear benefits at every stage.

Ground 0Idea Phase

Individuals who have selected a problem and begin to explore the solution space.

Launch StageValidation Phase

Individuals or teams developing business model, market understanding and testing demand with user interviews.

Stage 1TRL 1–3; 5+ LOIs or ~€50K Pre-Seed

For legally registered startups with early traction and product development underway.

Benefits: eLearning, Discord community, 2 free Groworking spaces for 6 months, 20h/month meeting room access, specialised mentorship, Sofia Tech Labs consultation, 1:1 consultations, subsidized office space, Demo days, Google or AWS cloud credits, product or team photosession, company website positioning.

Stage 2TRL 4–6; €25K+ Revenue or 2+ Customers or ~€100K Seed

For startups with commercial traction and prototype validation.

Benefits: All Stage 1 benefits plus: introductions to science parks, innovation zones and international partners, market insights, Sofia Tech Labs support, forum/expo positioning and competitions/funding call information.

Stage 3TRL 7–9; ~€100K Revenue or 5+ Customers or €250K+ Funding

For scale-ready startups with market-ready products. Focus shifts toward strategic networking, investor readiness, professional branding and growth momentum with annual reviews.

Scale-Up Stage 3

Scale-up support for startups with €100,000+ revenue, 5+ paying customers or €250,000+ funding.

BenefitsCore support continues through consultations, mentorship, strategic introductions, meeting rooms and Google for Startups, with stronger emphasis on investor readiness, professional branding and strategic networking.

R&D · TRL 1–9 Technology Transfer

R&D-focused track for science products and services with lab collaboration.

BenefitsParticipants work closely with Sofia Tech Park laboratories, BAS, universities or another scientific organisation to facilitate technology transfer between startups, corporates and academia.

Late Stage Unicorn Prep

Late-stage support for startups with €10M+ revenue or 50+ customers, targeting major rounds.

BenefitsThis category unlocks full SEEIP support and is aimed at companies preparing for significant international growth and larger investment rounds.

Monitoring

Quarterly Progress Checks

Quarterly progress checks for all startups and annual reviews for office tenants. Annual monitoring is based on a survey, basic financial statements and staff records, and is used internally to assess development and fit.

Technology Transfer Track

Connecting research, laboratories, academia and commercialization — transforming scientific development into validated products, startup growth and international market access.

Sofia Tech Park Infrastructure

Sofia Tech Park is Bulgaria's first science and technology park, focused on ICT, life sciences and clean energy.

SEEIP participants can use facilities with discounts and participate in events, workshops, demo sessions, networking formats, benefits and discounts from partners.

Discoverer Supercomputer

Discoverer is a petascale supercomputer used for artificial intelligence, high-performance computing (HPC) and advanced scientific research. The supercomputer is part of the BRAIN++ AI Factory.

Core workloads include: drug discovery, protein folding, genomic sequence analysis, heavy multi-variable industrial optimization and advanced quantum computing research workflows.

07 · Multimedia Studio

ClubHouse

ClubHouse is a digital studio for high-quality audio and video production, pitching, podcast recordings, live streaming and professional content creation.

The space supports startup meetings, jury rounds, investor pitch practice, mentoring sessions, photo sessions and video content production.

In 2025 the studio delivered projects for 21 clients — covering 20 events, producing 5 professional live-streamed formats (including the 10th CASSINI Hackathon) and running the year-long media campaign for Sofia Tech Park's 10th anniversary.

Resident podcast clubs — HR Navigator (with Manpower Bulgaria) and Greenhouse (with Cleantech Bulgaria) — record and broadcast from the studio, which also creates dedicated content for SEEIP portfolio startups Elka.bg, BuddyGuard, Momfident and Neuromorphica.
